I just came across a great reading strategy resource. The book is organized around five reading strategies (connecting, questioning, visualizing, inferring and transforming) and uses children's literature and includes ideas for the optimum learning model... modeling, practicing, and independent practice. It also has extensive lists of children's books that help teach the above strategies for primary and intermediate readers.

We'll have to look into that one--we'll be going to Barnes and Noble within hours due to the latest hype of Potter anyways! :)
